Today, we are introducing "Perilla Concentrate (with Honey)" from Japan Toyo'uke Natural Farming!
This sugar-free perilla concentrate is made with the Toyo'uke Fragrant Ura Red Perilla, carefully cultivated from homemade seeds on a lush farm in Kannami, Shizuoka Prefecture. It is simmered with organic raw honey ("Ikita Honey") and mirin sugar, preserving the rich aroma and taste of perilla in a body-friendly formula.
This rare perilla variety has green leaves on the front and a deep purple hue on the back, offering a strong fragrance and abundant pigments. It is also packed with nutrients like carotene, B vitamins, vitamin C, calcium, iron, and potassium. Additionally, it contains perillaldehyde, known for its antibacterial properties, and polyphenols (rosmarinic acid), which have potential antioxidant effects—making it a great daily health supplement.
